Painting outdoors in acrylic and large canvases were both new experiences. The urgency and anxiety involved informs my landscapes in understandable ways. Whether there are accidental spectators or not, suddenly I am under pressure and on the clock. Ready? Go! Now! Paint it Now! I never finish a piece on location, but the essence and character of the image gets established in that first session. In 2011, Half Dome from Glacier Point was selected as the the cover image for Sierra Heritage magazine’s Arts and Culture edition.
