Birds in a Bush

Acrylic on board, 7″ x 11″
On a cloudy day out in February out in a field, a flock of yellow birds were flying in tandem. Many of them had gathered in a small bush with bare branches and remained for quite a while – beautiful and surreal. They festooned the limbs like holiday ornaments and I captured them here. I accentuated the yellow grass with an abstract tactile quality and applied subtle color to the storm clouds. In 2012, this piece was included in the brochure for the Sierra Art Trails, sponsored by Stellar Gallery, Oakhurst, CA.
