Lower Yosemite Falls in Blue and Orange

Acrylic on gallery wrap canvas, 24″ x 24″
The dynamic falls morphed into a curlicue and spiral design to convey the movement. The rock configuration to the left felt iconic so it required particular attention. After years of observing the falls, my focus shifted to the details – not “a waterfall” but “Lower Yosemite Falls”. The darkest blues required a lot of glazing. Restraining the orange-peach-pink from shouting “I am Orange!” was the true challenge! In 2017, this painting was featured in Yosemite Renaissance 32.
